Our Pregnancy Ultrasound Services

At SonoCare Ultrasound, we provide high-quality, patient-centred imaging in a calm and supportive environment. Our range of obstetric scans is designed to guide, reassure, and support you throughout every stage of your pregnancy.

DATING / VIABILITY SCAN

The dating and viability scan is an early pregnancy ultrasound performed between 6 and 10 weeks. It confirms the pregnancy, how many babies, checks your baby’s heartbeat, and determines your due date—offering reassurance during the early stages.

FETAL ANATOMY SCAN

The fetal anatomy scan, done between 18 and 22 weeks, is a detailed assessment of your baby’s growth and development. It includes evaluation of the brain, heart, spine, and other vital organs to ensure everything is progressing as expected.

GENDER SCAN

From around 16 weeks, the gender scan allows for determination of your baby’s sex. It’s a special and memorable moment, combined with a brief check of your baby’s development.

NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY (NT SCAN -1st Trimester screening

Performed between 11 and 13+6 weeks, the NT scan assesses your baby’s early development and estimates the risk of certain chromosomal conditions. This safe, non-invasive scan also confirms gestational age and key early structures.

GROWTH & DOPPLER SCAN

These scans monitor your baby’s growth, wellbeing, and placental function later in pregnancy. Doppler assessment evaluates blood flow, helping guide optimal care and identify any potential concerns early.

3/4D SCANS

Our 3D/4D scans offer a unique opportunity to see your baby’s features and movements in real time. This elective scan provides a beautiful bonding experience and lasting memories for you and your family.

Our services should not be used to replace regular prenatal care provided by your physician or obstetrician. During each ultrasound we do a general abnormalities check, and should we detect anything that does not appear normal we will refer accordingly.

Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool used to monitor and inform decisions during pregnancy. Your ultrasound will be conducted by a qualified sonographer trained in obstetric ultrasounds. I cannot treat any conditions. Ultrasound helps monitor conditions and plan further management. If issues are detected, seek medical treatment from your chosen healthcare provider.

While most ultrasounds provide excellent quality, they may not detect all disorders or defects due to factors like baby's age, position, your body type, and past surgeries. If organs can't be fully evaluated, a rebooking may be needed at no extra cost.

It's crucial to note that some issues may develop later in pregnancy. A normal ultrasound doesn't guarantee absence of future problems or rule out birth defects, genetic, or chromosomal issues, some of which may not be detectable by ultrasound.
